About Me......

Thanks for visiting my website. I created this website to share my love for photography combined with my love for the outdoors. In particular, my favourite backdrop for my photography work is Killarney Provincial Park located in Northern Ontario, Canada.

Background.....

I have been hiking and canoeing the Lakes of Killarney since I can remember back to my earliest memories. Over the years I have accumulated thousands of photographs of this area as, in my opinion, there is no bad photograph of this area. With a background in engineering and forensic photography I combined these skill sets to match my love for art & photography. In particular I have followed and collected Robert Bateman prints and the Group of Seven prints. It was the Group of Seven that inspired me all these years later to apply both my background & training in forensics and then combine that to produce art/photography prints. In the print to the left, Franklin Carmichael climbed high on mountains of Grace Lake in 1935 in order to paint. The print to the right is from exactly the same spot where Carmichael sat in 2013.

The Website.....

As mentioned, this website is about presenting the workflow process for creating these prints. Each print is different and unique yet they all start with the process of trying to capture the perfect shot. Full frame cameras and lenses ranging from 14 mm (wide angle) all the way to 500 mm (telescopic) were utilized. Climbing to highest mountain peak is part of the photographic journey for some of these prints. Some of the prints presented here are created using a technique called High Dynamic Range, bracketing anywhere from 5 to 9 prints on top of each other. Others are stitched and merged together with as many as 15 photographs to produce large and detailed panoramic prints. The technological workflow from start to finish has numerous stages & ultimately paint brush strokes complete the final print. Due to shooting in large full frame cameras and in raw files, many of the prints have been professionally printed and framed to create stunning art.

Thanks....

Lastly, I would like to extend my thanks to my two best friends Mark & Sean. If we were ever to sit back and figure out how many miles canoeing, portaging, climbing, exploring & hiking we have done over the years it would add into the thousands. We have explored almost every square inch of the park and yet we still find new adventures every year. The amount of photos we have shared could not even be counted. Some of the refinished photos in the gallery section belong to them and their creative instincts. Our next adventure will be for 7 days this September in Killarney and so will begin the next chapter..........

Cheers & I hope you enjoy my site. Please see the 'Contact' section with any questions/comments,
